Blessings everyone. Glory to Jesus Christ. I hope all is well with you in the Lordโ€ฆ

So today I want to talk about foolishness and how the act of it will not prosper in this new year.

During the time I spent with God most recently, I heard the Lord say, I extended my grace and mercy previously, but foolishness will not successfully prosper this time aroundโ€

God said, I extended my grace and mercy previously, But I will not tolerate much foolishness this time around.

Now Guys, this discussion is not about name calling, or coming from a spirit of Judgment or condemnation. Why? Because we all have done or said foolish things in our lives right, we all have fallen short of the glory of God, amen at some point in time.

Now we must also understand that even though the word fool is not meant to be a personal insult or a derogatory term as a lot of people it these days use it for, right?

The bible does speak about fools in the book of proverbs, in the book of Ecclesiastes, and other areas of the word as being a descriptor of the spiritual reality of a person who lacks wisdom. ok

And the reason why I came on to talk about this with you is because as I said earlier, itโ€™s a concern on the heart of our Father in heaven.

People of God, I donโ€™t now about you but there has been a lot of foolishness gong on in my own personal life as well as in the world in general, Praise God.

We now live in a world where evil is called good, and good is called evil. We live in a day and time where wisdom is called foolishness and foolishness is called wisdom. Praise God.

And as a result people are being lied too. Gods sheep are being led astray. False prophets are seen as ministers of God, and no one is willing to be taught because they already think that they are wise in all things.

But the bible says otherwise when it comes to wisdom.

If we look at our brother Solomon, he was considered to be one of the wisest of his time but, even as Solomon was considered to be wise, the bible also says that he made foolish choices in his life.

And for this reason, Solomon teaches us in the book of Proverbs that it was always wise to seek all wisdom from the holy scriptures.

Why?

Because we as a humans lack knowledge in different areas of our lives and as a result, there will always be something that we could learn from the word of God so that we can continuously grow I wisdom.

Does that make sense yall?

So with all that has been said, God wants us to know that that the lack of seeking wisdom will be the downfall of many people in this new year. The Lord says foolishness will hardly be tolerated because anyone that loves him will also love wisdom.

God says he has observed many of you

God says now is the time for all of us to put aside folly and decide to grow in wisdom so that we do not get left behind. Praise God!

Somebody says well Shaneika what are the characteristics of a fool? What should I look for in myself or in others so that I am not deceived?

1. Fools despise wisdom.  There is a clear dichotomy in the Bible between right and wrong and between fools and those who love wisdom.  Those who fear God learn wisdom, but fools hate understanding.  Proverbs 1:7 says, โ€œThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.โ€

2. Fools create needless strife and adversity for themselves and others.  Ecclesiastes  7:17 says, โ€œBe not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?โ€  Sin is inherently destructive, leading people to do dumb things and to put themselves in dangerous situations.  Proverbs 13:21 says, โ€œEvil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.โ€

The righteous will suffer trouble and hardship in this life (Matthew 5:45), but they will avoid the needless trouble that fools create for themselves and others.  The righteous will manifest the fruit of the Spirit, and their lives will bless others by

Galatians (5:22023)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

 pointing them to Christ.

3. Fools have a spiritual complacency about them.  Proverbs 1:32 says, โ€œFor the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.โ€  Having rejected the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom, they think not of the coming judgment or of matters of eternal significance.

The fool does not fix his hope on heaven (1 Peter 1:13), but upon futility, vanity, useless tasks, nothing, or on every worldly thing Satan has to offer.

4. Fools do a lot of worthless talking.  Proverbs 10:8 says, โ€œThe wise of heart will receive commands, But a babbling fool will be ruined.โ€  This does not imply that those who do a lot of talking are automatically doing wrong compared to those who are more quiet by nature.

What it is saying is that the words that fools speak are nonsensical, irrational, unedifying, of trivial matters, formulated without thinking, and based not in absolute truth but in opinion, feeling, and emotion.  Proverbs 18:2 says, โ€œA fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.โ€

Rejecting the opportunity to learn, the fool is more interested in running his mouth according to his own views even if they are not in accordance to reality or truth.

Ecclesiastes 10:12-14 says, โ€œ12 The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.

14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?โ€

The foolโ€™s speech begins with idiocy in that he rejects the Scripture and doesnโ€™t think rationally.  The result is increased wickedness, stupid choices, and madness, that is, the inability to properly evaluate decisions and life directions based upon truth.  Yet the fool likes to hear himself talk and keeps the babbling and jabbering going on and on.  Proverbs 15:2 says, โ€œThe tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.โ€

5. A fool follows the deceptive leading of his wicked heart in the wrong spiritual direction.  Proverbs 12:15 says, โ€œThe way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.โ€  If a fool would only respond to the instruction of Scripture, he could see that his directional bias is misguided and dangerously pointed in the wrong direction.  Yet he is convinced that his way is right and justified, even if it is irrational.  Proverbs 28:26 says, โ€œHe that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.โ€

Wisdom seeks out a new heart in Christ, for only in Christ can a heart be reborn and given the desires of His heart (Psalm 37:4).

Ecclesiastes 10:2 says, โ€œA wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.โ€  There are two ways to choose in life, Godโ€™s way or the devilโ€™s, and fools choose the wrong one and believe that they are right in doing so.

6. Fools tend to have anger issues.  Proverbs 29:11 says, โ€œA fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards..โ€  Fools are quick to lash out in anger, and they thrive on violence and personal attacks.  Ecclesiastes 7:9 says, Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.โ€

7. Foolishness is contagious.  Bad company does indeed corrupt good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33), and those who spend too much time with fools will begin to assimilate to their foolishness.  Proverbs 13:20  โ€œHe that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed..โ€  Spending time with those who have the wisdom of Christ and being teachable will lead to one growing in wisdom, but the companion of fools will come to harm.

8. A fool doesnโ€™t listen to sound teaching or respond to correction.  Proverbs 23:9 says, โ€œSpeak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.โ€  A fool is not even thankful for pearls of wisdom, but catching a fool in his folly is more dangerous than confronting a mother bear who has just had her cubs stolen (Proverbs 17:12).  It is why Jesus says not to cast pearls before swine because the swine will turn and tear you to pieces (Matthew 7:6).  The fool is not appreciative of helpful Scriptural advice and wise counsel, but he will despise the person for attempting to share it and even seek to do him harm.  Proverbs 15:5 says, โ€œAll the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.โ€  A fool does not respond to wisdom, but he goes right back to doing the same despicable acts all over again.  Proverbs 26:11 says, โ€œAs a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.โ€

9.  The ultimate form of foolishness is a person who thinks that he is smarter and wiser than God.  Proverbs 26:12 says, โ€œ Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.โ€  A person who is naรฏve, untaught, young, or inexperienced has more of a likelihood of coming around to the truth than a person who thinks that he knows it all and has it all figured out.  Those who want God to bow down at the idol of their intellect as they spout the wisdom of the world which is foolishness before God are the most foolish of fools.  1 Corinthians 1:21 says, โ€œFor after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.โ€  Hasty boasts of false wisdom and hurried and premature victory claims are symptoms of great pride and evidence of a need for God to bring a person low (Proverbs 29:20).

Isaiah 35:8 says, โ€œAnd an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.โ€

In other words, the highway in this verse means the road of holiness that leads to the wisdom of God if you choose it.

But the scriptures says, the unclean shall not pass over it, meaning the foolish.

Only all that seek the wisdom of God are allowed on this highway of holiness which leads to Jesus, which leads to the kingdom of God.
